Guarantee
We guarantee each and every dog purchased from Northstar Pointing Labs to be healthy, both physically and mentally. All dogs are guaranteed to be clear from all hereditary hip and eye defects.

The problem dog will be replaced with an eight week or older puppy from similar breeding or breeding of buyers choice provided that all criterions are met. 1. The dog’s hips should be x-rayed between 24 and 28 months of age by an approved veterinarian, and X-rays sent to O.F.A. to be examined. (Dogs over 28 months of age are not covered under this guarantee. Dogs/Puppies under the age of Two (2) are not covered. Northstar Pointing Labs can require a second opinion from a different veterinarian. Said dog if another similar breeding is planned will be replaced at no charge. If customer would like a replacement dog from a different breeding, the customer will be responsible for the difference in price from their current dog to the new breeding. All transportation fees are the responsibility of the owner of the dog.

If the dog was certified to be dysplastic, the owner must submit proof in writing from O.F.A. A copy of O.F.A.’s certification and a written statement from a veterinarian that the dog has been spayed or neutered. Northstar Pointing Labs will also have access to any vet records of injuries occurring prior to 2 years of age.

The dog must not be used for breeding until x-rayed and approved by O.F.A. If the dog is used for breeding or has been bred before being approved by O.F.A., guarantee is VOID.

The dog must have its eyes examined by 1 year of age by a certified veterinary ophthalmologist. The ophthalmologist must state in writing that the defect is definitely of a hereditary nature and not caused by injury or illness. Dogs over 18 months are not covered under this guarantee.

No dog will be guaranteed unless THE DOG IS registered with AKC or UKC and carries the word Northstar in its registered name. The guarantee is also non-transferable and only valid to the original dog’s owner.

If you can not part with the problem dog, we will work out an amicable arrangement that will allow you to keep the dog or return the dog to Northstar Pointing Labs as long as the dog is neutered or spayed.
